Chisinau, 15 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- The promulgation decree and the Law amending Law No156/1998 on the public pension system were published in the Official Journal today.

Under the document, those who have a contribution period, five years longer for men and three years for women, will be entitled to an early retirement pension than the one provided by law.

Another regulation concerns the revision of the pension indexation formula. The indexation will be done once a year, on April 1. It also provides for a coefficient of increase in pensions, amounting to 50% of the real economic growth for the previous year, which will also be granted on April 1, in a fixed amount.

At the same time, the way of establishing the minimum pension will be reviewed. The amount of the minimum pension will be set annually by the Government, its value will be at least equal to that of the previous year.
