Official Journal publishes decision on paying one-off benefit for employees infected with COVID-19 at work

Chisinau, 15 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- The Official Journal today published government's decision to pay one-off allowance of 16,000 lei for 5,563 employees who fell ill with COVID-19 at work.

Under the decision, the Ministry of Finance will earmark 89 million lei from the Government Intervention Fund for granting one-off benefits worth 16 thousand lei to medical staff, as well as other employees who fell ill with COVID-19 while performing their duties.

The one-off allowance, amounting to 16 thousand lei, will benefit 5,563 people, of which 4,882 are medical staff of medical institutions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, National Administration of Penitentiaries, medical institutions subordinated to the Ministry Health and local public authorities, and 681 are employed by budgetary institutions.

The public authorities, as beneficiaries of the allocated financial means, are responsible for the data presented and will prepare, in the established way, the necessary documents for the financing of the expenses through the institutions in which the persons work.
