Nicolai Grigorișin won elections for mayor position in Bălți municipality

Chisinau, Dec. 20 / MOLDPRES /- Independent candidate for mayor of Balti municipality Nicolai Grigorișin has got 7,148 votes and won the second round of the new local elections, which took place yesterday.

The Central Electoral Commission announced that the polling stations of the polling stations ended the counting process last night and presented the preliminary results of the second round of the new local elections for mayor in Balti. Thus, the independent candidate, Nicolai Grigorișin, accumulated 7,148 votes, and the candidate of the Patriots of Moldova Party, Nicolaie Chirilciuc, gathered 1,248 votes.

According to the central electoral authority, 10,209 voters participated in the electoral process, which represents 9.98 percent of the number of people with the right to vote.

According to the electoral legislation, in the second ballot, the candidate who obtained the highest number of votes is considered elected, regardless of the number of voters who participated in the elections.

For the second round of the new local elections in Balti, 102 105 ballot papers were printed, of which 51,988 in Romanian and 50,117 in Russian.
