Moldova's Culture Ministry presents schedule of Christmas Fair

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The lights of the Christmas Fair, organized by the government, will be turned on on the square of the Nicolae Sulac National Palace on 24 December. Festive activities will be held all over Moldova this year.     

At a today’s news conference, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that, besides the traditional Christmas Fair in the centre of Chisinau, simultaneously, concerts would take place in more districts of Moldova and the artistic schedule, The Winter Tale, will be sung in orphanages and placement centres from more villages and towns of the country.    

According to the official, the Christmas Fair will meet guests with a holiday atmosphere, created by thousands of lights. More leisure areas will be set for visitors and children will be able to enter the house of Santa Claus. More cooks professionals will cook various culinary delights and craftsmen will exhibit and sell their works.   

The concerts due to take place inside the Nicolae Sulac National Palace will be broadcast on LED screens set on the square.  

The schedule of activities dedicated to the winter holidays will also include a charity concert titled, The Winter Tale. A band of Alex Calancea and sisters Osoianu will go to villages and towns to visit children’s homes, placement centres, asylums for elderly people to present artistic activities. At the same time, this charity concert will be held at the headquarters of the Nicolae Sulac National Palace as well, where about 150 orphan children and elderly people from the Chisinau municipality will be invited.     

The schedule of artistic events dedicated to the Christmas holidays will end on 9 January, with the closing of the Christmas fair. The fair will daily be opened as of 10:00 till 22:00. The cultural and artistic schedule will be daily placed on the website of the Culture Ministry.   

The first issue of the Christmas Fair took place in Chisinau in 2017.
