Chisinau, Dec. 22 / MOLDPRES /- 78 percent of vaccinated people in the Republic of Moldova recommended vaccination to other people, according to data from the sixth study on behavioral visions on COVID-19 in our country, conducted by the Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Public Health with the support of WHO office in Chisinau.

According to the study, 47% of its respondents received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 78% of those vaccinated recommended immunization to other people. The reason that led the population to be vaccinated is the desire to protect themselves and those around them (every second respondent vaccinated).

Research shows that the percentage of the vaccinated population increases with age (from 30% for the 18-29 age group to 53% for people over 50) and with increasing levels of education (from 29% for people with 58% primary education for people with higher education).

According to the study, 53% of respondents say they refuse the vaccine for the following reasons: distrust of the safety of the vaccine because it has not been tested long enough for side effects or long-term consequences (32%), the presence of chronic diseases in the population that cause fear not to aggravate the state of health after the administration of the vaccine (22%) and the categorical refusal to be immunized in any form (12%).

The study was conducted between October 8-31 this year, on a sample of 1,010 people from over 300 localities, the sampling error being ± 3%.
