Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has started the procedures of giving for free access to the sanitary veterinary measures (laboratory testings and vaccinations), identification and registration of animals from private households.

The ANSA deputy director general, Alexandr Manciu, said that, in this way, the society would have access to nominally necessary veterinary services, including the free of charge registration and identification of animals; this will enhance the safety of the animal origin food products and especially those got in non-professional households. Also, decision-makers will be able to more efficiency implement the programme of strategic actions of supervision, prophylaxis and combating of diseases in animals, preventing the transmission of diseases from animals to people and protection of the environment.

According to the ANSA official, the veterinary physicians and assistants, recently employed in territorial sanitary and veterinary districts from the territorial food safety subdivisions, will be involved in such activities as management, combating and eradication of eventual hotbeds of officially notifiable diseases of animals. ‘’All these will contribute to improving the living standards in the rural environment,’’ Alexandr Manciu noted.

All data collected, related to the strategic programme of animals’ identification, will be introduced in the information systems, State Register of Animals, management of the sanitary veterinary measures and management of laboratories.
