Chisinau Municipal Council declared 2022 Eugen Doga Cultural Year

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday, the Chisinau Municipal Council approved a decision on declaring 2022 - Eugen Doga Cultural Year.
The rapporteur on the draft decision, the head of the CMC Culture Department, Valentina Volontir, mentioned that Master Eugen Doga is a genius, composer, academician, professor, conductor, full member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, People's Artist, Citizen of honor of the city of Chisinau, author of Hymn of the capital.
In 2022, he will celebrate his 85th birthday.
Present at the meeting, Mayor Ion Ceban said that at the most important exhibition and leisure centers in the world, Eugen Doga's creation is used as background music, along with the works of the most famous 5-7 composers in the world. Thus, the mayor remarked that it is the duty of the authorities, but also of the citizens, to bring gratitude to the master for his work and for the effort made throughout his life, in order to develop our national music.
In October, the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the transfer to the balance of the Culture Department, for a period of 10 years, of a building in Veronica Micle Street, in order to place the Eugen Doga Cultural Center in it.
