Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/ - The border policemen will work in enhanced regime on the next days too, when, as usual, the number of crossings increases in the direction of exit from Moldova. The deputy head of the Border Police, Valentin Fiodorov, made statements to this effect today.

According to Fiodorov, traditionally, following the winter holidays, an increase in the number of crossings in the direction of exit from Moldova is expected. The most transited border checkpoints are Leuseni, Sculeni, Criva, Otaci; the border police will work more intensely at the Chisinau International Airport as well.

The official recommended that travelers be informed about the situation at the border before setting out and verify the traffic at the border crossing points, as well as the necessary list of documents. He urged drivers to opt for the border checkpoints placed nearby, such as Sculeni, Costesti, Briceni or Larga.

According to the quoted source, about 700 border policemen worked on the New Year night. More than 114,000 crossings of the border were registered on the two days off.
