Chisinau city hall to organize more cultural events on 15 January

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - The culture department of the Chisinau city hall on 15 January will organize cultural events on the occasion of the National Culture Day and the 172nd anniversary of the birthday of poet Mihai Eminescu.

The cultural actions will start on 15 January morning with laying flowers at the monument to the great poet on the Mihai Eminescu square at 9:30. At 10:00, flowers will be laid at the bust to poet Eminescu and the busts of other Classics of the Romanian Literature from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden. At the same event, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, will give a speech of homage, following by an artistic programme organized by the Moldovan Writers’ Union.   

At 10:30, the participants in the events will make an excursion to the National Art Museum of Moldova and at 11:30 a cultural event will take place, presented by pupils of the Valeriu Poleakov, Alexei Starcea and Eugen Doga art schools. This event will be followed by a scientific symposium at 12:00.   

On the same day at 13:30, a painting exhibition will be inaugurated in the hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, made by pupils of extra-school institutions of artistic education, subordinated to the culture department. At 14:00, the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre will host a cultural and artistic action dedicated to the National Culture Day, followed by the awarding of diplomas to the institutions from the culture sector subordinated to the Chisinau city hall and handing congratulations to culture sector institutions.      

A festivity dedicated to the National Culture Day will take place at the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library at 15:00, an event organized by the institution in partnership with the Mihai Eminescu Romanian Cultural Institute.
