Public library from north Moldova district renovated

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Mihail Dolgan public library from the Rediul Mare village, northern Donduseni district, has been renovated. On this occasion, the settlement’s mayor, Ludmila Harabari, organized an action of commemoration of the departed literary critic.     

Attending the event were the daughter of the departed culture man, university lecturer of the Romanian Linguistics and Literary Science Department of the Moldovan State University (USM), Liliana Dolgan, and PhD lecturer, disciple of the doctoral school of academician Mihail Dolgan, Victoria Fonari.   

At the event, the director of the aforementioned library, Ecaterina Rotaru, referred to the importance of restoring the library’s building and inaugurated a cultural event on the life and works by academician Mihail Dolgan with presentations of books.   

Liliana Dolgan came up with a donation of books and highlighted the importance of the family in the growing of the personality, touching upon the years of her childhood and the memory of her father, the image of the village. In the context, Victoria Fonari emphasized the activity of professor and researcher of academician Mihail Dolgan – a personality who was able to provide a junction of USM with Moldova’s Academy of Sciences, Writers’ Union. Mihail Dolgan invited more writers to book launches at the faculty, spoke about an anthological book, in which students from all USM faculties participated.     

Academician Mihail Dolgan was born in the Rediul Mare village,  Donduseni district, on 5 February 1939. He worked as head of the Romanian Literature and Literary Theory Department of the Moldovan State University during 1995-2010. Dolgan wrote more than 60 books, coordinated more studies in the field of history of the contemporary Romanian literature. He died on 2 May 2013.
