Seventeen settlements disconnected from power supply because of strong wind in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The wind gusting to 18-23 metres/second from the last night and today disconnected the power supply in 17 settlements from 11 districts of Moldova.  

According to data by the External Relations and Communication Department of the state capital enterprise, Premier Energy Distribution, stock company, in line with the operative situation from 14:00, there are problems in the supply of electric energy in the districts of Orhei, Ialoveni, Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi, Hancesti, Cantemir, Vulcanesti, Taraclia, Cimislia and Ceadar Lunga, including the outskirts of the Chisinau municipality.

Sixty four intervention teams of the distribution enterprise work on site, who have the task to localize and make safe the wires broken by the wind and carry out works of reestablishing the service in the concerned settlements and at the private consumers hit.  

Given that the warning of orange code of wind, issued by the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) on 17 January, is still valid till today evening, with new damage situations possible, the power distributor attracts the attention of the residents, enterprises and public authorities to strictly observe the rules of protection against electrocutions and to inform about any incident the distribution operator at the phone number of the Service 24 hours: 022-43-11-11 or the local one showed in the invoice.
