Deputy premier for reintegration took oath of office

Chisinau, January 19 / MOLDPRES /- Oleg Serebrian, new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration took the oath of office today in front of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița. The country's leadership has expressed confidence that Oleg Serebrian has the experience to advance the Transnistrian dispute settlement process, the government's communications and protocol department has reported.

"I am convinced that the diplomatic experience and good knowledge of the realities in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the situation in the region, will help you face this new professional challenge. For us, the well-being of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, both those on the right bank and those on the left bank, is very important. Our task is to identify a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the Transnistrian conflict that respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, "said Maia Sandu.

"Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian has a long career and is an experienced diplomat, well known to foreign partners. Being modest, wise and balanced, he has the necessary qualities to manage this complex file, in such a difficult period ", mentioned Natalia Gavrilița.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, Oleg Serebrian was introduced to the Reintegration Bureau team. The new Deputy Prime Minister stated that he is ready to face all the challenges: “Indeed, it is a complicated case, with many sensitive issues in almost all areas: education, health, traffic, veterans, etc. We are going to take more action in this regard, so I rely heavily on the support of the government team and external partners. "

Oleg Serebrian has extensive experience in diplomacy. He held several positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was a Member of Parliament and a coordinator of international programs. In 2010-2015 he was ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in France, and from 2015 to 2022 - ambassador in Germany. The position he held until his current appointment was that of director of the Diplomatic Institute attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
