Moldovan parliament speaker, Ambassador of Romania discuss legislative priorities in spring-summer session

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met Romania’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The two officials exchanged opinions on more up-to-date subjects, such as the energy crisis, regional security, as well as the Moldovan parliament’s priorities for the immediate next period.   

In the context of the discussions, Igor Grosu referred to the intention to provide every needed support to Moldova’s citizens as to the overcoming of the energy crisis through the implementation of viable mechanisms.

Another subject tackled was focused on the situation in the regional security sector; the sides stressed the necessity of an open dialogue in this respect.  

”We express our openness for the carrying out and maintaining a dialogue based on a well-prepared and substantial agenda of keeping peace, so that all citizens are in safety,’’ the parliament speaker said.   

The officials discussed also the process of preparing the future Joint Meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments, with the sides speaking out for new cooperation in diverse sectors.  

”We are set to develop relations at the level of parliamentary commissions. And here I mean the identification of infrastructure projects, strengthening the business relations through encouraging foreign investors,’’ the speaker stressed.   

In the context, Ambassador Daniel Ionita expressed Romania’s openness for laying the foundations of a solid cooperation for the benefit of all citizens.
