Decision on declaring of emergency state published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - The decision on the declaring of the emergency state was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.  

According to the document, emergency state is declared on all the territory of Moldova for a period of 60 days.

On the period of the state of emergency, Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations will issue instructions, in order to fulfill the following measures: ordering, if necessary, the rationalization of the consumption of natural gas and other energy resources; adoption of decisions needed, in order to ensure quick actions of supply with natural gas, including through derogation from the normative provisions; adoption of decisions on empowering the system providers and operators to act, in order to purchase, carry and distribute natural gas and other energy resources all over the country; coordination of the work of mass media institutions as regards: informing the residents about the causes and proportions of the emergency situation, about the measures undertaken to prevent the danger, liquidate the consequences of this situation and protect the population; informing the residents about the rules of behavior during the emergency situation; introduction of special rules of use of telecommunications means; establishment of quick instruments of collecting payments from consumers for the natural gas used; setting a special regime of buying natural gas quickly, if necessary; allocation of financial means for ensuring the purchasing of the needed volumes of natural gas, if necessary; carrying out actions needed, in order to prevent, diminish and liquidate the consequences which triggered the emergency state.      

All instructions issued by Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations enter into force starting the moment of their issuance. Moldova’s parliament will inform, in a 3-day term, the United Nations Secretary General and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe about the present decision and the reasons for its adoption.
