Moldovan fine artist passes away

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - Fine artist, expert in church painting, holder of the honorific title, Master in Art, author of the icons from the Chisinau-based Birth of God Cathedral Ghenadie Taciuc died at the age of 63 years today.  

In an obituary, the Fine Artists’ Union of Moldova (UAP) expresses deep regret about the passing away of the fine artist, UAP member Ghenadie Taciuc.  

Ghenadie Taciuc was born in the Bravicea village, central Calarasi district, on 3 August 1958. He finished the Igor Vieru Academic Lyceum of Fine Arts, the class of teacher Igor Vieru, as well as the Academy of Arts from Tallinn, Estonia. In 2011, he got the Grand Prix of Moldova’s Saloon for the work , Composition II (oil painting), provided by Moldova’s Culture Ministry.   

Ghenadie Taciuc started his activity in the artistic cultural space at an exhibition titled, The country’s youth in 1986. His creative work was combined with the teaching one at the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy.    

”The fine art vision promoted by the artist represents a synthesis between the traditions of the Byzantine iconography, modern stylizations and symbolism, showing a sensible attitude towards the solidity and morphology of the shape anchored in philosophical and metaphoric senses. The works by Ghenadie Taciuc are in numerous public and private collections. The Fine Artists’ Union of Moldova expresses condolences to the family, relatives, colleagues and all those who knew him,’’ the obituary signed by UAP also reads.       

The funerals of the departed artist Ghenadie Taciuc will be held at the cemetery from the Bravicea village, Calarasi district, on 24 January at 10:00.
