Chisinau, January 23 / MOLDPRES /- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration hosts an exhibition MaiestrIA, which is also authored by Moldovan diplomats, the MAEIE press service has reported.
In a discussion with representatives of the Măiestria international community, Minister Nicu Popescu said "cultural diplomacy contributes essentially to building and consolidating the reputation of the Republic of Moldova abroad and spreads the values that represent our country."
The opening aims to promote the presentation of the true value and significance of this reference piece of our folk costume, including as part of the UNESCO transnational dossier "The art of shirts - element of cultural identity in the Republic of Moldova and Romania".
The exhibitions MăiestrIA include over 60 traditional shirts sewn today and exhibited in recent years in ethnographic museums in Romania, such as the Museum of Traditional Popular Civilization ASTRA in Sibiu (2019) and the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest (2020). In 2021 the exhibition MăiestrIA was opened at the Spanish Senate in Madrid and at the Palace of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
