Moldova's General Police Inspectorate investigates lawfulness of actions of Orhei district council, city hall

15:05 | 24.01.2022 Category: Social

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Following monitoring visits made by employees of the General Police Inspectorate to the central Orhei district today, they found out that 45 out of 47 education institutions worked with physical presence and only two of them worked online. At the same time, in the Orhei city, all education institutions work with physical presence.

According to IGP, to exclude the illegal deeds committed by the local public administration from the Orhei district, law-enforcers demanded the repeated summoning of the Orhei territorial commission, in order to revise the provisions of the Decision No 1 from 21 January 2022 and compulsorily comply with the decision No 2 from 20 January 2022.

Also, to cease the infringements committed, the police made a string of prescriptions, thereby demanding the compliance with the Decision by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) and the public health measures provided for in the concerned Decision.

In the context, IGP informs that the non-observance of the compulsory health measures, set forth in the CNESP decision No 2 from 20 January 2022, represents danger for public health and will serve as ground for imposing measures of liability of private people and legal entities, based on the Article 76/1 of Moldova’s Contraventional Code. At the same time, the materials accumulated, which concern people with public offices of the Local Public Authorities, will be submitted to the National Anticorruption Centre for consideration and adoption of a decision.

Emergency state in public health sector was declared all over Moldova on the period 22 January-20 February 2022. At the same time, as of 24 January till 4 February, the general education institutions, except for the early education institutions, work online. The decision was taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, given the worsening of the epidemiological situation in Moldova and increase in the number of infections with coronavirus among children, pupils and young people.
