About 20,000 patients received urgent medical help last week

Chisinau, January 25 / MOLDPRES /- About 20,000 people called for ambulance on January 17-23. Following the provision of emergency medical care, 6,159 patients, including 1,471 children, were transported to hospital, the IMSP National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Care has reported.
Citizens with respiratory diseases - 7,670 people, followed by 3,458 with cardiovascular emergencies, including 51 patients with acute coronary syndrome, were the most frequently called for medical help by the Emergency Service. Neurological emergencies accounted for 2,085 cases, of which 237 were strokes.
"In the last week, the emergency medical teams were requested for 56 patients, who suffered as a result of road accidents. At the same time, the AMU teams promptly responded to 43 requests due to toxic emergencies, including 17 patients with drug intoxication, 11 intoxicated with alcohol and five with carbon monoxide ", according to the quoted source.
Last week, seven people between the ages of 37 and 80, presumably diagnosed with hypothermia and frostbite, received urgent medical attention. Five cases of hypothermia were registered in the districts of Causeni, Criuleni, Ocnita, Orhei and Nisporeni. The cases of frostbite were reported in Chisinau and Floresti district. Subsequently, after the provision of emergency medical care, depending on the condition of the patients, they were transported to hospitals.
