Business community to benefit from state support of 140 million lei this year

Chisinau, January 25 / MOLDPRES /- The Ministry of Economy, through the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM), will provide financial support to the business this year worth about 140 million lei, of which 85 million lei will be allocated directly to entrepreneurs through of six existing state programs, extended through five new programs under development. Another 15 million lei will be directed towards increasing the loan guarantee fund.

The results of the programs administered by ODIMM, as well as the new programs launched were presented today in a press conference, held by the Minister of Economy, Sergiu Gaibu, and the interim director of ODIMM, Dumitru Pîntea.

"Despite the crises we face and the austere budget, we have managed to identify mechanisms through which to continue programs with a high impact on the business environment, but also to launch new programs to support the business environment. At the same time, we started a process of reforming ODIMM in order to optimize the activity of the institution and provide sustainable support to entrepreneurs. The 140 million lei allocated this year will increase the competitiveness of SMEs and will offer entrepreneurs in difficulty opportunities to relaunch their business ", said Sergiu Gaibu.

Dumitru Pîntea reiterated the importance of the small and medium enterprise sector and the commitment assumed by the institution to develop an effective partnership with the entrepreneurial environment in the Republic of Moldova. "Creating business start-up and development opportunities is our main mission. In the activity of ODIMM we emphasize the observance of the principles of integrity, the facilitation of the access to financing and the simplification of the application procedures to the grant programs ”, said the head of ODIMM.

Among the allocations provided for this year are: the Program for Attracting Remittances in the Economy (PARE 1 + 1), 30 million lei; Start Program for Youth (20 million lei); Growth and Internationalization Program (15 million lei); SME Greening Program (15 million lei); SME Guarantee Fund (15 million lei); SME Digitization Tool (10 million lei); Women in Business Program (5 million lei).

In the last two months, ODIMM has financed 297 investment projects, for a total amount of 61 million lei.

The Organization for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM) is a public institution established in 2007 at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Moldova at all stages of business development with a view to making them more competitive, dynamic and sustainable.
