Register of Soils from Moldova information system becomes more accessible for users

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - Systematized data about soils will be able to be easier used by farmers from Moldova. In this respect, the government at a today’s meeting approved a draft on the amendment of the Concept of the Information System, Register of Soils from Moldova.  

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the draft sees technical changes dealing with the data due to be introduced to the concerned system. Agricultural producers and representatives of the business environment will have possibility to quicker visualize and analyze the data on the state and quality of lands, in order to take correct decisions on investments in agriculture or on providing loans. So far, the document has allowed getting geo-spacial and textual information on the profile, reliability, code and name of the soil.    

The information system will be able to be used also by the central and local public authorities, in order to highlight the degraded farmlands, which can be used for working out measures of ceasing the process of degradation and more efficient management of the soil.    

At the same time, the system’s data could be used at the correct calculation of the land tax. Also, to elaborate policies and researches in the field, as to improving the quality and diminishing processes of soil’s degradation, decision-makers will make a systemic monitoring of the parameters dealing with the soil’s quality.
