About 30% of Moldovan population vaccinated with full scheme against COVID-19

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/- Last week, 45,723 people were vaccinated in Moldova, up by about 12% than the second week of this year and about 15% less compared to the previous month. The booster dose was administered to 139,969 people.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Health, at present, the national coverage with a dose in the general population is over 30%, and with a full scheme - about 29%, in total being administered 1,885,336 doses of vaccine.

The highest immunization rate with the full scheme is registered in Chisinau - 45% and Soroca - 33%, and the lowest vaccination coverage is attested in Gagauzia 18%, Sangerei and Leova - 20%.

The Republic of Moldova received a total of 2,722,440 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Immunization against COVID-19 is free and recommended by all national and international health institutions, and is an effective way to stop the pandemic.

In the Republic of Moldova, the vaccination campaign started on March 2, 2021, and so far 1,855,176 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 have been administered, in the primary scheme and booster. Comirnaty / Pfizer-BioNTech, Spikevax / Moderna, Vaxzevria / AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and CoronaVac / Sinovac vaccines are currently available in immunization centers across the country.
