Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), at a today’s meeting, ruled to compensate the price difference for the household consumer and non-household ones, following the new increase in prices for natural gas, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, to support the household consumers, the government will compensate 79.8 per cent of the difference resulted from the increase in the price for the first 50 cubic metres of gas monthly consumed and for the next 100 cubic metres of gas consumed – 69.5 per cent of the difference, so that the price paid by them further remains 6.8 lei for the first 50 cubic metres, respectively 7.9 lei for the next 100 cubic metres consumed.

As for non-household consumers, defined as private people or legal entities who purchase gas from providers of natural gas on other purposes than for domestic purposes, except for the public authorities and institutions, the government will compensate the first 500 cubic metres consumed, with 100 per cent of the difference between the price regulated for the supply of natural gas from the month of invoicing and the respective price from December 2021, after the initial increase. The compensation procedure will be similar to the one for the household consumers; the invoices issues will include, separately, the overall sum for the services provided, the size of the compensation and the sum due to be paid by each consumer after the recalculation.

The government’s support will be provided retroactively starting from 1 January 2022, and is to be provided also for February and March this year.

Sixty million lei will be allocated from the government’s intervention fund, for the compensation of the price difference for the non-household consumers, following the latest increase in gas tariffs.

The CSE instruction from 1 February 2022 can be accessed on the government’s website:  https://gov.md/ro/content/decizii-cse.
