Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan capital’s city hall today launched the municipal programme, Chisinau Civil Budget, 2022 edition.

The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today presented the main provisions of the Chisinau Civil Budget, through which citizens can submit initiatives of financing projects of public interest. ‘’The citizens’ participation in the municipality’s projects represents an important contribution to the transparentizing of the local public administration’s work,’’ the mayor noted.

According to Ceban, all people interested may submit projects of local interest on the period 1-28 February. The initiatives suggested by citizens will be classified in two categories: big projects, worth between 100,000 and 300,000 lei and small projects, worth between 50,000 and 10,000 lei. Subsequently, they are to be assessed and validated by a commission made up of representatives of the city hall and the civil society, after which they will be subjected to the voting process, in order to be implemented.

The process of Participatory Budgeting has the goal to promote innovating ideas of citizens, with beneficial impact, for medium and long term, for the Chisinau residents.

The capital’s citizens, both private people and legal entities, can participate in the programme, individually or in teams. It is worth mentioning that an important criterion for providing financing on behalf of the Chisinau city hall represents the co-financing, which will be of 1 per cent for private people and 20 per cent for legal entities.
