New Ombudsman appointed today

Chisinau, 3 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Ceslav Panico has been appointed Ombudsman today for a seven-year term. 57 MPs voted for his candidacy. Panico was also sworn in during today's meeting.
Ceslav Panico has a degree in law and a master's degree in civil law. He was a member of the Council for the Prevention of Torture of the Institute for Criminal Reform, in which he participated in the implementation of several projects funded by national and international organizations.
A total of seven people took part in the competition for the selection of candidates for the position of Ombudsman.
Ombudsman seat remained vacant on December 9, 2021 after Natalia Moloșag submitted her resignation.
