08:52 | 11.02.2022 Category: Economic

Chisinau, 11 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The Government's decision on new quality requirements for the marketing of fresh fruit and vegetables was published in the Official Journal today. The new rules have been established in accordance with the standards adopted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN / ECE).

The document refers to several imported or domestic consumer products (potatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, cucumbers, eggplants, zucchini, melons, melons, apricots, plums, cherries and sour cherries).

The purpose of the document is to ensure the internal market with domestic or imported fruits and vegetables that meet quality requirements and health regulations.

According to the project, the quality of production must be certified by a certificate of conformity, issued by the National Agency for Food Safety. Until now, such a document was requested only by businesses that exported fresh fruits and vegetables. The attestation of the compliance with the sanitary norms will be executed based on the tests performed by an accredited laboratory. At the same time, the obligation to hold the Certificate of Harmlessness was excluded, this document becoming an optional one.
