Seven startups in Moldova to develop digital products, services in agri-food industry

Chisinau, 17 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Seven startups in our country will develop digital products and services in the agri-food industry, within the educational platform Accelerator AgTech, part of the first Laboratory of agricultural innovations in the Republic of Moldova.

For 12 weeks, the teams will have access to a set of videos and tests, which address steps and essential factors in the development of a startup: business modules, customer identification, market analysis, unit economy, etc. To this end, the teams will benefit from the guidance and supervision of mentors in the field of agriculture.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Viorel Gherciu, participated in one of the sessions of the AgTech Accelerator, to get acquainted with the potential of professionals in the field of information technology and agriculture, as well as to find out innovative ideas and solutions to digitize agriculture.

"The Republic of Moldova needs innovation in agriculture, and start-ups will provide farmers with optimal tools and solutions, based on efficiency and sustainability. We are confident that you will identify the digitalisation and innovation needs of farmers, as well as improve access to markets, ”the minister summed up.

To connect agriculture with innovative solutions, the Technovator platform in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Tekwill project have launched the AgTech Innovation Lab - a program that supports the acceleration of the digitization process. agriculture, in order to increase efficiency and increase the competitiveness of the sector. The AgTech Innovation Lab will be implemented between November 2021 and April 2022.
