Moldovan sportspeople sum up performance at Winter Olympic Games

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova got the tenth place in biathlon, sprint event, in Beijing; this is the second good result ever recorded at the Winter Olympic Games.   

The National Olympic and Sports Committee today presented the results achieved by the national team at the Beijing Olympic Games.   

Biathlon player Alina Stremous ranked tenth at the sprint, being close to the performance of Natalia Levenkova, who ranked eighth in a race of 15 km individually. Alina’s success is the second good result ever recorded by Moldova at the Winter Olympic Games.   

Men’s best result was got by Pavel Magazeev, who ranked 26th in the individual race.

Another important moment was the result achieved by Doina Descalui in the luge race at the Olympic Games, who ranked 32th. Descalui is the first Moldovan sportswoman to compete at this event.
