Moldova to close airspace

Chisinau, Feb. 24 / MOLDPRES /- At the recommendation of the Supreme Security Council, the airspace of the Republic of Moldova will be closed starting at 12:00. The flights will be directed to other airports. The announcement was made in a briefing by Interior Minister Ana Revenco.

According to the quoted source, a checkpoint of the situation is activated at the Ministry of Interior, and the entire staff was taken to work, increasing the number of patrol crews but also of the border police.

The head of the Ministry of Interior mentioned that at this time there is an increased flow at the border crossings with Ukraine, and five Ukrainians have already requested the protection of the Republic of Moldova.

Revenco said the sorting center in the capital had already been set up, and camp camps for refugees would be set up near the Palanca and Otaci customs.
