Moldovan foreign ministry sets up crisis cell on security situation from Ukraine

Chisinau, Feb. 24 / MOLDPRES /- In the context of the serious deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine, at the suggestion of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu, Crisis Cell was established within the MAEIE. The crisis cell is also in contact with the diplomatic missions of our country abroad and the foreign diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.

At the same time, the ministry ordered the strengthening of security measures at the diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Moldova which have a high degree of exposure.

We reiterate our call on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova not to travel to the neighboring country, and we urge those who are temporarily in Ukraine to leave the territory of this state immediately.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration strongly calls on all citizens to be informed only from official sources in order to prevent possible distortions of reality resulting from activating various social media channels that generate false news in order to misinform the population.
