Points of crossing border with Ukraine supplied with teams of physicians

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Health Ministry today informed that it has assessed the stocks of medicines, consumables and equipment available nationally and provided all Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points with  teams of physicians.  The medical staff makes the sorting and testing of the foreign citizens with clinical symptoms specific for COVID-19.  

The Health Ministry’s leadership said that it had given instructions to leaders to provide the public medical and sanitary institutions with the necessary quantity of medicines, pharmaceutical and para-pharmaceutical goods for an extended period of 90 days.    

Also, all centres for migrants were endowed with thousands of tests and protection equipment, including disinfectant. If the infection is confirmed, people with light forms of COVID-19 will be placed in isolators of the centres for refugees, while people with serious forms, who need hospitalization, will be taken over by teams of emergency medical assistance and carried to medical institutions.  

The refugees’ health condition will be permanently monitored by the medical employees set in the provisional sorting centres. In all medical and surgical emergency situations, including in hospitalization cases, the medical assistance will be provided for free, according to protocols and standards. At the same time, the ministry said the centres for refugees had been and would further be provided with strictly needed medication and consumables.
