Ştefan Vodă district - in front line of helping Ukrainian refugees

Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The authorities of the Stefan Voda district, an administrative-territorial unit located on the border with Ukraine, continue to be at the forefront of helping refugees seeking rescue in our country from the war launched in the neighboring country by Russia.

Thus, after a few hours spent at the border, people coming from Ukraine have several options after arriving in the territory of Stefan Voda district: accommodation in a temporary placement center, private accommodation or continuing travel.

According to the data of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Family Protection, yesterday, 212 adults and 108 children were accommodated in the localities of the district. A total of 1,092 seats are available.

The management of Ştefan Vodă district is constantly monitoring the situation, identifying new accommodation places for refugees.

At the same time, about four tons of potatoes were distributed yesterday, donated by Alexandru Oprea from Ștefănești village. Many aids also came from the citizens, the economic agents.

The mayor of Crocmaz village, Ion Veleșco, together with economic agents, friends, managed to fortify the efforts and gathered hygienic products, clothes, medicines and baby food, which he offers to the refugees staying in the local kindergarten.

The village of Carahasani also mobilized massively. "Dear countrymen, since the morning of February 25, we have been asked to host two families (four adults and two children) refugees from Ukraine who were accommodated at the local Social Center, for the time being 11 adults and 6 children are placed at this center, two mothers with two children at a villager's house. The respective persons are provided with everything necessary (sleeping places, sanitary block with hot water, kitchen, basic necessities and food products). Many villagers are ready to offer life and support to our neighbors in Ukraine, we stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, I wish you peace.
