Single Crisis Management Centre starts working in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Single Crisis Management Centre, set up for coordinating the assistance provided to Ukrainian citizens, started working today. The structure will be led by the government’s secretary general, Dumitru Udrea. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita made statements to this effect at a news conference today.  

According to the PM, the Centre’s goal is to coordinate the situation as to the flow of refugees from Ukraine.  

„The centre is to supply the Ukrainian citizens, who are temporarily in placement centres, at relatives and friends, with the short- and long-term needs: food, clothes, medical assistance, consular services, strictly necessary products, etc. Also, the processes dealing with depositing, transportation and distribution of donations and humanitarian assistance on behalf of foreign partners, as well as on behalf of economic agents and private people will be managed at the centre,’’ Gavrilita said.     

The Single Crisis Management Centre will also have hotline due to be functional as of 1 March. ‘’The first trucks with assistance on behalf of the United Nations Organization will come on 1 March too,’’ the prime minister noted.

Natalia Gavrilita informed about the opening of additional deposits at the Moldexpo Centre, other locations for refugees.

For his part, Dumitru Udrea said that, at present, there was a great need in blankets, toys and other articles for children. Also, the government’s secretary general said that those willing to donate food products should take care that they have a conformable, legible and visible validity term.
