Travel alert in Russia

Chisinau, March 1 / MOLDPRES /- In the context of the decisions of the authorities of the regional states affecting the air and land transport routes of passengers to and from the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration calls for calm to the citizens of our country temporarily in the Russian Federation, the MAEIE press service has reported.

In case of emergency, those wishing to return to the Republic of Moldova are advised to make use of the trade routes still available with stops in Istanbul, Turkey or Dubai, United Arab Emirates - to Iasi or Bucharest. We remind you that until March 4, the airspace of the Republic of Moldova is closed, with no flights being made through Chisinau International Airport.

At this stage, the institution is evaluating the possibilities of using alternative routes for passenger transport, and several options have been identified that will be further communicated.

The MAEIE also urges our citizens not to travel non-essential trips to the Russian Federation and to regularly check the information disseminated on the website of the Ministry and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow.
