Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today met a group of refugees from Ukraine, accommodated at the Moldtelecom training centre from the Ivancea village, central Orhei district. For the moment, the centre hosts 74 people, of whom 32 children, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The people accommodated at the centre thanked for the hospitability and mobilization proved by the authorities and citizens of Moldova. ‘’We did not expect that we would be received so well, here in Moldova. We have met only people ready to help us from the border till we reached the centre. All services acted quickly. Although we arrived at midnight, we were accommodated very quickly and were provided with all we needed,’’ one of the women placed at the institution said.

PM Gavrilita told the people that the government did its utmost to manage the flow of refugees as efficiently as possible, so that the people benefit from crisis assistance – accommodation, nourishment and other services.

„At a today’s meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations, we ruled to give them also possibility to work in Moldova on the period of the emergency state. At the same time, at the Single Crisis Management Centre, set up by the government, we will analyze possibility to implement measures for involving children in learning activities,’’ PM Gavrilita noted.

On behalf of the government, Natalia Gavrilita thanked the citizens, economic agents and partners for an unprecedented mobilization.

„Nobody wants war. I think that not only our legal, but also our moral duty is to help the Ukrainian migrants. We could not have coped with such a big wave of refugees without such a big mobilization proved by people and authorities,’’ the prime minister said.

The director general of the Moldtelecom state enterprise, Alexandru Ciubuc, said the centre’s administration and auxiliary staff made all necessary efforts for creating conditions needed by the people who come from Ukraine.

The placement centre for refugees from the Ivancea settlement has a capacity of 80 places. The institution has two blocks for accommodation. Presently, most needs are covered by the donations.
