Cahul subzone of ZEL Bălţi to be connected to utilities

Chisinau, March 4 / MOLDPRES /- South Regional Development Agency (ADR), the City Hall of Cahul and the management of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Bălți yesterday signed the financing contract within the project Connection to utilities of subzone No18 (Cahul) within the FEZ .

The contract has a total value of about 13.31 million lei, of which 11.96 million lei are planned to be allocated, in 2022, from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), and 1.35 million lei will be the contribution of ZEL Bălți.

The project was included in the Single Program Document 2022-2024 and was included in the Financing Plan for the current year from the financial means of FNDR. "Its general objective is to increase investment attractiveness in the economy of the Southern Development Region and to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the region," says ADR South.

The project, the applicant for which is the South Regional Development Agency, envisages the construction of 2.4 km of 10 kV high voltage electricity network, a 1.41 km long aqueduct network and a sewerage network ( 1.58 km), the construction of 0.87 km of medium pressure natural gas network.

"Economic development based on the competitiveness of the regions is a priority for regional development policy. We want to create well-paid jobs here at home. Through such projects, the Southern Development Region becomes more competitive," said Ion Pînzari, director interim to ADR South.

At the beginning of this year, the National Council for the Coordination of Regional Development (CNCDR) approved the allocation of 9.4 million lei for the works to be carried out during 2022 within the mentioned project.
