Moldovan PM visits Cărpineni refugee placement center

Chisinau, March 6 / MOLDPRES /- Today Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița visited the Refugee Placement Center, established within the former boarding school for orphans in Cărpineni, Hâncești. At the moment, 25 women and 34 children are staying here, most of them from the Odessa region, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The women housed in the institution thanked the Prime Minister for the way in which they were assisted, right from the entry on the territory of our country, noting that all the transportation and accommodation procedures were done quickly.

"We understand that Moldova is not a big country and does not have unlimited possibilities. All the more impressive and extremely valuable is the support you give us and our children. We will never forget this generous help that the Moldovan authorities and people offer us in this crisis situation ", mentioned one of the refugee women.

Natalia Gavrilița gave assurances that the Government will take all measures to ensure that the people receive the support they need. Thus, those who stay in the country benefit from accommodation in specialized centers, having the opportunity to work when needed. For those who want to reach other states in Europe or other parts of the world, green corridors for exit from the country are provided together with the Romanian Government.

"We all want to return to the activities we had in peacetime as soon as possible and direct all resources and opportunities for development so that we have a better future for ourselves and our children," he said. minister.

The director of the center, Tudor Țenu, mentioned that the institution has a total capacity of 300 places, some of which are already adapted for hosting refugees, and, if necessary, other rooms will be prepared. Given that several children are accommodated in the center, a games room has been set up in the institution. In conjunction with some public associations, more creative activities are to be organized to help children overcome the tense situation more easily. Refugees are provided with three meals a day, the food being donated by NGOs, but also by the inhabitants of Cărpineni village, according to the head of the Social Assistance Department, Tamara Călugăr.

The mayor of Cărpineni village, Ion Cărpineanu, said that another 234 Ukrainian citizens are accommodated in the locality within two other placement centers. At the same time, 32 Ukrainians were hosted by local families.

In a discussion with the district authorities, Natalia Gavrilița inquired about how the processes of organizing / managing the refugee flow at the local level, which continue to increase from day to day, can be improved. "At the moment, we have over 120,000 Ukrainian refugees in our country, of whom about 30,000 are children. We need to make sure that all the organizational processes are well set up and every person in charge of the local public authorities knows where to go to address the needs that arise ", the Prime Minister underlined.

In this context, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers pointed out that several decisions have been taken within the ESC to support the efforts of those responsible for crisis management at the local level. Thus, the Commissions for Exceptional Situations of the Local Public Administration Authorities operate on a permanent basis in all districts of the country. During the state of emergency, the representative of the Government in the territory or their deputies are, obligatorily, members and vice-presidents of the CSE of the Local Public Administration Authorities, with the right to convene their meeting. At the same time, staff directly involved in the process of managing the flow of refugees and ensuring public order and security in the system of internal affairs, defense, labor and social protection as well as staff in the territorial structures of social assistance, social workers and social workers benefit from financial increases. for work.
