Moldovan MPs reexamine law on selection of members in judges' leadership bodies

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today reexamined the law on measures related to the selection of candidates for the office of member in the bodies of self-administration of judges and prosecutors. President Maia Sandu returned the document to parliament for reexamination.

According to the head of state, to ensure the carrying out of the procedures established, including the complex verification of candidates through the light of the integrity criteria, it is necessary to revise the terms related to the carrying out of certain actions and their extension. Thus, some terms have been extended by about ten days.

The law on several measures related to the selection of candidates for the office of member in the bodies of self-administration of judges and prosecutors provides for the setting up of a specialized commission for assessing the integrity of the candidates for administrative positions from the Superior Council of Magistracy and Superior Council of Prosecutors.
