Moldovan speaker talked to Swedish counterpart

Chisinau, March 17 / MOLDPRES /- Speaker Igor Grosu had an online meeting today with his Swedish counterpart, Andreas Norlén, President of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
At the beginning of the talks, Grosu expressed his regret that, due to the war in Ukraine, he could not honor the official invitation to visit Sweden, because he cannot leave the Republic of Moldova in this context of crisis.
At the same time, the speaker reiterated his total interest in deepening the political, commercial-economic, educational dialogue with Sweden.
"The war in Ukraine has significant consequences for our country as well. From an economic point of view, exports to several markets are affected, as are imports from Ukraine and other countries transiting the territory of the neighboring state. We need help for Moldovan products to reach as many markets in Europe as possible ", mentioned Igor Grosu.
He also thanked the Kingdom of Sweden for donating equipment to the Republic of Moldova for humanitarian crisis management and providing financial support to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) provide the necessary assistance to refugees.
"We appreciate Sweden's support during our European aspirations and aspirations and express our hope that we will also be assisted in the process of accession and integration of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union," he said.
