Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today published on her page a message in the context of the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine. The head of state informed that she had asked the government to prepare an anti-crisis programme for supporting the small and medium-sized businesses, including in agriculture and for backing low-income people.
The Moldovan president said that the war in Ukraine had started a new crisis, which will have long-lasting consequences for Moldova. ‘’We everybody feel the increases in prices for consumer products and fuels. The imports and exports to the East have stopped and this affects the consumers and economic agents from Moldova. I demanded that the government prepares a programme of anti-crisis actions for backing the small- and medium-sized businesses, including in agriculture and for supporting the low-income people. The launch of infrastructure projects nationally and locally will create more jobs and will consolidate the country’s resilience. The small farmers must be supported, in order to start the agricultural works in time,’’ Maia Sandu noted.
“In the upcoming months, we will have to work more, to save, to be more adaptable. We will resist, just as our parents and grandparents did it. I promise you – no matter how difficult will be for everybody, the state will be with the citizens. By acting with generosity, prudence and responsibility, together, we will get out of this period stronger,’’ the head of state said.
