Collective immunity to coronavirus reached Chisinau

Chisinau, March 21 / MOLDPRES /- Vaccination rate required for collective immunity has been reached in Chisinau.

The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Chisinau Municipal Council, Boris Gâlcă, declared today during the online meeting of the municipal services that the vaccination rate in Chisinau is over 48 percent, but “together with the percentage of those vaccinated in Romania , we have reached the figure of 70% ”. "We can say that in Chisinau the vaccination rate necessary for collective immunity has been reached," Gâlcă said.

At the same time, the official stressed that the city of Chisinau is in the yellow code of health emergency. "The diseases caused by coronavirus have decreased, but they still exist," Gâlcă said. According to the official, 110 patients confirmed with coronavirus are hospitalized in municipal health institutions, of which only two cases are serious.

Gâlcă mentioned that, starting with March 31, the Health Department will give up the two mobile vaccination points. "Given that the vaccination rate is low and collective immunity has been reached, we will give up, starting with March 31, the mobile vaccination points. The vaccination process will continue in the polyclinics ", said the official.
