Moldovan deputy premier visits Brussels

Chisinau, March 21 / MOLDPRES /- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu is paying a working visit to Brussels on March 21-22 to discuss the security situation in the region and to promote our country's European integration agenda, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The program will start with the participation in the Foreign Affairs Council chaired by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission. An exchange of views is to be held here with the foreign ministers of the EU Member States on the European aspirations of our country, as well as the regional security situation generated by the war in Ukraine.
The head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova will also meet with Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs and other senior officials of the European Commission.
At the same time, on March 22, Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu will speak at the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee on the impact of the war in Ukraine, Moldova's handling of the humanitarian crisis, the regional security situation and our country's European aspirations. During his visit to Brussels, the Moldovan official will also meet with MEPs - representatives of various parliamentary groups.
