Poland- reliable friend of Moldova - president says

Chisinau, March 22 / MOLDPRES /- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a meeting last night with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, who was on a working visit to Chisinau. The two heads of state discussed the security situation in the region, caused by the devastating war in Ukraine, and the chain crises caused by it, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials reaffirmed their common aspiration for dialogue and the restoration of peace, while also expressing the hope that the fighting will end and that the people will be able to return to their homeland to rebuild their country. "Both Moldova and Poland are neighbors of Ukraine, with deep historical, interpersonal and economic ties. In the last three weeks, both Moldova and Poland have hosted a very large number of refugees, to whom we have provided shelter and security, "said Maia Sandu.
The head of state thanked President Andrzej Duda for the interest-free loan of 20 million euros, which will be offered to our country, but also for the political support within the European institutions and for our European journey. President Maia Sandu also expressed appreciation for Poland's readiness to support Moldova in opening up the European Union market to Moldovan exporters who have lost their Eastern markets due to the war. "Poland is a reliable friend of the Republic of Moldova, proof that we are supported even in these difficult times," said Maia Sandu.
