Skydiving Federation leadership investigated by CNA, prosecutors

Chisinau, March 22 / MOLDPRES /- Today, CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors carried out criminal prosecutions in a case initiated on the grounds of abuse of office, committed by persons responsible for the leadership of the Skydiving Federation of Moldova. They are suspected of having caused millions of lei in damages to the entity during the last years of activity.

According to the CNA, the leadership of the Federation allegedly provided services for a fee to parachute sports enthusiasts, charging fees without reflecting them in the financial records. Thus, in 2019, persons responsible for the management of the Federation would have received 3 million lei from the services provided, and in 2020 - over 7 million lei, without reflecting them in the financial records.

This morning, CNA officers conducted seven searches of homes and offices and in the cars of the Federation's leadership. Reports and records of the flights, bank documents, statements and other evidence that are the subject of the case were collected from the scene.

The case is documented in terms of committing the crime of abuse of office. Currently, an extra has the status of a suspect and is being investigated in a state of freedom.
