Youth centers to be set up in all sectors of Chisinau

Chisinau, March 23 / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau authorities have launched a program of assistance for youth centers and councils in the capital.

Municipal Youth Center head Petru Grecu said that the Program aims to strengthen institutional capacities, which would allow the development and territorial expansion of youth services, increase the number of people involved in various personal development programs decision-making, as well as participation of those with limited opportunities in youth activities.

Attending the event Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that the investment of local public administration authorities in youth sector comes to offer more opportunities for them to develop multilaterally and thanked the young people involved in volunteer activities, being in the front line, both in the pandemic period through COVID-19 and in the management of the refugee problem in Ukraine, in all municipal centers.

The program launched by the municipal authorities aims to create youth centers in all sectors of the capital; empowering workers in all youth centers in Chisinau; organizing the Grant Program for Youth Centers; creation and / or empowerment of five Local Youth Councils in Chisinau; creation and / or empowerment of 10 Youth Councils in the suburbs; empowering young people from the 18 suburbs of the municipality, involving them in various personal development programs and spending their free time.

Local Public Authorities, town halls in the suburbs, as well as Chisinau praetors' offices will become part of the Program, signing a collaboration agreement with the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports through which they will receive the necessary support.
