Procedure of getting driver's licence to be simplified in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved amendments to the regulation on the procedure of examination for getting the right to drive vehicles, issuance and validity of the driver’s licence, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The amendments suggested have the goal to modernize and improve the quality of the public service, through cutting the number of acts needed, costs, duration of providing the service. At the same time, decision-makers will ensure the inter-operability of the data from the information systems of the Interior Ministry, Health Ministry and Education and Research Ministry at the documentation of people with right to drive vehicles.  

The normative framework related to the field will be adjusted to the EU legislation, through the partial transposition of the provisions of the European directive on the driver’s licences in the part concerning the requirements for the examiners and the procedure of examination for getting the right to drive vehicles; this will bring benefits, in the context of the agreements on the conversion of driver’s licences.
