Moldovan agriculture ministry presents support measures for farmers

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan government has increased the subsidy fund for farmers, which amounted to one billion 750 million lei.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Viorel Gherciu presented the main state aid measures for agricultural producers, so the subsidy fund for agricultural producers amounted to one billion 750 million lei. "The main aid measure taken by the government in support of agricultural producers is the compensation of 30 percent of excise duties on the price of diesel, in time we will reach full compensation," said Gherciu.

At the same time, the official said that another aid measure for agricultural producers refers to the compensation of interest on loans, the maximum amount being 400 thousand lei. "We are analyzing the milk price compensation, these calculations are being made at this time. We consider it necessary to provide support to Moldovan zootechnicians who produce 67 thousand tons of milk annually ", he said.

He said that in the long term support measures are being taken for future investment projects in the livestock sector and in irrigation-related projects.
