Moldovan Prime Minister visits Calaraseuca centre

Chisinau, April 2 / MOLDPRES /- On a working visit to the northern Moldova Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița visited sorting center for Ukrainian refugees in Calarașeuca, and talked to several families temporarily housed in the institution.

According to the government's communication and protocol department, the premier assured them that Moldova will provide all necessary assistance. "Our people are not the richest compared to other countries, but the massive and impressive mobilization they have shown shows that they have a big heart and human values ​​that are priceless," said Natalia Gavrilița, appreciating the solidarity of Moldovan citizens who have offered a helping hand at such a difficult time for the neighboring country.

"Compared to the fear we experienced in Ukraine, here in the Republic of Moldova, we feel completely safe. While airstrikes were continuing over our house in Harikov, I really understood what the essential values ​​in life were. And these are by no means the material ones, but humanity, human values ​​and compassion are the most important ", mentioned a refugee woman from Ukraine, temporarily housed in the Center, together with the whole family.

The institution started its activity on the first day of the war, February 24, and was opened in the former nursing home. It has a capacity to accommodate 300 people, today 20 people are accommodated here. In total, more than 2,000 Ukrainian refugees have benefited from the center's services, of which 300 have applied for asylum in the Republic of Moldova.

Ukrainian refugees are temporarily accommodated, being here for a maximum of three days, within the Center, after which they go to other destinations or find a place to rent or leave for other countries, most of them being in transit.

Calarașeuca sorting center is managed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, within which 23 MAI employees work.
