We will continue to invest in development of localities - Moldovan PM says

Chisinau, April 2 / MOLDPRES /- Issues of the localities in Ocnita district and solutions to their management were discussed today at a working meeting between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and mayors and leadership of the district, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The official spoke about the impact of the war in Ukraine on key areas for the development of the Republic of Moldova, noting that the authorities are working to ensure stability in the country, reduce economic consequences, as well as address food security and export reorientation.

The Prime Minister also referred to the actions of the Executive, aimed at supporting local public authorities, including the simplification of the procedure for deregistration of households, the development of amendments to the regulatory framework on value shares, and the allocation of additional funds to rectify the budget for payment. bills of public institutions in the field of education. At the same time, Natalia Gavrilița mentioned that the Government will look for new possibilities to supplement the funds destined for local projects, including those related to ensuring energy efficiency.

"I hope to obtain additional financial resources, so that we can finance public institutions, but also households, to heat insulate houses, to repair roofs. We will continue to direct the money towards the development of the localities ", the prime minister underlined.

In this context, the mayors welcomed the launch of the European Village Program, expressing confidence that they will be able to access funds that will contribute to the modernization or renovation of several local infrastructure objectives. Under the program, town halls can submit project proposals for the construction or modernization of water and sewerage systems, for the renovation of kindergartens, schools, houses of culture and other objects of local infrastructure.

The representatives of the local public authorities of level one and two also informed the prime minister about the current situation in the district, the difficulties in managing the local issues. Thus, the problem of lack of drinking water in some localities and the need to complete projects started for the construction of aqueducts was addressed. Also, issues related to land delimitation were addressed, as well as the identification of solutions to create new attractive jobs for the inhabitants of the region.
