Moldovan, Lithuanian governments concluded agreement to optimize fight against cross-border crime

Chisinau, 4 April /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet approved today signing of the agreement between Moldova and Lithuania on cooperation in fight against criminality.
According to the government's communication and protocol department, the prevention and combating organize crime is a priority for activity of the Interior Ministry and plays an important role dialogue of international cooperation, as well as development and consolidation of friendship and cooperation relations between the two states. Thus the signing of the bilateral agreement will generate an efficient exchange of information and good practices between the police structures of both states.
The agreement will help boosting the cooperation between the competent authorities by providing mutual assistance in combating more effectively offenses set out by the national legislation of both states.
The cooperation will focus on improving the mechanisms for combating crimes on life, health and freedom, organized crime, illegal trafficking, forged IDs, cyber crimes etc.
