Chisinau, 4 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today held a news conference, during which she informed that Moldova would not allow the voiding of sanctions against Russia as to the aspect of the banking system and as regards the re-exports too. The head of state said sappers from Moldova might help their colleagues from Ukraine.

At the news conference, the Moldovan president tackled more topical subjects, among which the status of neutrality of Moldova and the way of settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.

Maia Sandu noted that the banks from Moldova observed the sanctions imposed against Russia and the authorities would not allow re-exports through Moldova.

„As far as the exports are concerned, they are almost inexistent because of the war. The most important element is the procurement of gas. For the moment, we have a sure provider. The government looks for alternatives, but the situation on the gas market is difficult. We are not the only country which does not give up. Moldova signed most declarations on the condemnation of the Russian aggression in Ukraine at the international level,’’ Sandu said.

The Moldovan president reiterated that there were security risks and the Chisinau authorities stay vigilant. ‘’My message for the Tiraspol regime is not to commit actions which would lead to the enhancement of the risks,’’ Maia Sandu added.
